Service Overview

The performance of any ESD flooring system depends as much on correct installation as on the product itself. Poor substrate preparation, incorrect adhesive application, inadequate grounding connections, or incomplete curing will result in a non-compliant floor regardless of the quality of the flooring material. Propack's Flooring Installation service eliminates this risk by providing qualified, experienced applicators who are trained specifically on ESD flooring systems.

We install all flooring systems we supply — conductive/dissipative epoxy coatings, PVC interlocking tiles, loose-lay sheet vinyl, and conductive carpet tiles — and we back every installation with a post-installation resistance test report and a Propack Compliance Certificate confirming resistance values meet IEC 61340-5-1 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 limits.

Installation Scope

Substrate Assessment

Pre-installation survey of the concrete or screed substrate — moisture content measurement, surface hardness testing, crack and contamination assessment, and identification of any remediation required before installation.

Surface Preparation

Diamond grinding or shot blasting to achieve the required surface profile (CSP 2–4 for epoxy systems). Crack repair, joint filling, and priming before product application. Critical for adhesion and longevity.

ESD Epoxy Application

Multi-coat application of conductive/dissipative epoxy system — primer, conductive basecoat with embedded copper grounding grid, topcoat — applied by trained epoxy flooring applicators to specified mil thickness.

PVC Tile Installation

Interlocking or adhesive-laid conductive PVC tile installation with grounding strips and connection to earth point. Suitable for areas requiring fast installation or future repairability.

Grounding Network

Installation of copper tape grounding grid (5 m × 5 m maximum spacing), earth connection bonding, and ground point lugs. Resistivity mapped and documented on the as-built drawing.

Post-Installation Testing & Certificate

Full resistance-to-ground measurement across the installed floor per IEC 61340-4-1. Test report with grid measurement results and a Propack Compliance Certificate suitable for your S20.20 audit file.

Installation Process

  1. 1

    Site Survey & Quotation

On-site survey by our installation team to assess the substrate, measure the area, identify any access or production-shutdown constraints, and confirm the flooring system specification. Written quote issued within 3 business days.

  2. 2

    Substrate Preparation

Substrate is ground or shot-blasted to achieve the required surface profile. Cracks repaired, contaminants removed, and primer applied. Typically completed in 1 day for areas up to 500 m².

  3. 3

    Grounding Grid Installation

Copper tape grounding grid installed at the specified spacing. Earth connection points installed and connected to building earth. Grid resistance verified before flooring application.

  4. 4

    Flooring Application / Installation

Epoxy system applied in multiple coats per manufacturer specification, with mandatory cure times observed between coats. PVC tiles laid to pattern with adhesive or interlocking system. Completed in 1–3 days depending on area and system.

  5. 5

    Testing & Certification

After full cure, resistance-to-ground measured at minimum 1 point per 5 m² grid across the entire installation. Test report issued. Propack Compliance Certificate signed and issued for your EPA records.
